Travel and accommodation

Hamar is about 50 minutes by direct train from Oslo Airport.

Arriving by air

  • Fly to Oslo Airport Gardermoen (OSL), the main international gateway for Norway, with direct connections from North America and across Europe.
  • From the airport, take the train directly to Hamar station — approximately 50 minutes, with several departures per hour.
  • Oslo Airport Torp (TRF) and Oslo Airport Rygge are alternatives, but require a longer transfer.

Arriving by train

  • Hamar is on the main Dovre line. Trains run frequently from Oslo Central Station (approximately 1 hour 15 minutes) and from Oslo Airport (approximately 50 minutes).
  • Tickets can be bought in advance through the Norwegian railway app or at the station.
  • Hamar station is a 10-minute walk from the conference venue.

Arriving by car

  • Hamar is about 130 km north of Oslo via the E6 motorway, roughly a 1 hour 30 minute drive.
  • Parking is available at the venue and in central Hamar. Most Norwegian car parks and toll roads are paid automatically or by app.

Getting around Hamar

  • Central Hamar is compact and easily walkable; the venue, hotels, station and lakefront are all within a short walk.
  • Local buses and taxis are available, and city bikes operate during the summer season.
